What’s Opera Doc?
A lot of people seem to think that this is one of the greatest cartoons ever. Upon seeing the horse at 3:10, I tend to agree.
Bonde Do Role, “Solta O Frango”
I’ve been working fairly harder than usual lately, so here is both me and you remembering to take a nightly dance break. Enjoy.

Cam’ron, “I Hate My Job”
This is probably the perfect recession song, and just listen to that beat; a beautiful track from a man who has been out of the limelight for the past few years. Apparently this wasn’t supposed to be a single, but response has been so positive that he made a video for it.. And most importantly, according to Girl Talk’s Facebook status he’s currently bumping this like crazy— so make sure you listen for it in his live sets.
Download the track heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere.
There’s been a lot of hubbub about the new Where The Wild Things Are movie (about half of said hubbub can be attributed to me) and a lot of it has to do with the fact that this dude is at the helm. But what else has Spike Jonze done? I’m glad you asked through your computer and somehow I heard you! Along with directing boring old feature films like Adaptation and Being John Malkovich, he’s worked on tons of..
The Pharcyde, “Drop”
Jonze has created tons of ridiculous music videos, with the one above being my favorite. His work has been collected in a “Director’s Label” compilation, alongside other contemporaries such as Michel Gondry, Chris Cunningham and Mark Romanek. His videos almost all have imaginative humor in them- like giving Ludacris gigantic Hulk arms in the video for “Get Back,” or allowing Weezer to play a gig in an episode of “Happy Days” for the “Buddy Holly” video. Jonze even provided an epic tale for Tenacious D’s “Wonderboy” video- albeit under a false name. Lately he’s teamed up with Kanye West and looks to further work in the medium.
By the way, as many of you may already know: “Drop” is my favorite music video of all time.
“Yeah Right!” intro
Spike is a co-owner of Girl Skateboards, and as such he helped film one of their videos. This is the intro to their most famous one, and his work in this field folds nicely into the next one..
“Jackass 2.5 Trailer”
Jonze is also a producer of the film series and television show Jackass. He can be seen as himself in both the show and movies and is generally a supporter of all things Jackassery. On IMDB he is listed as the “Old Woman” in Jackass 2.5, and I feel like that character was the old lady who had her top torn off and her breasts.. Exposed. That is the man directing Where The Wild Things Are. I’m STILL EXCITED.
P.S. Sorry I can’t find a clip of Jonze actually IN Jackass, the problem is that when you search Jackass on Youtube, you get more results than there are videos in the known world.
So now you know more things! Thanks, obligatory.! You really helped!
Empire of the Sun, “Walking On A Dream (Van She Tech remix)”
First off: That cover right there is ridiculous. But more importantly, for some reason, people are saying Empire of the Sun are strictly copying artblog-lovechild MGMT. Does that “artistic integrity” matter if the music is sick? If the issue really gets your undies in a wad, why don’t you just think of their album as another MGMT CD?
Oh well, that’s beside the point. Van She Tech has only improved on the original here. VST extended it, made it more danceable without making it sound too hard.. Basically the exact reason I love Van She Tech.
Just wait until the orgasm the track has at 1:46, and thank me later.
