I am halfway through this season. what incredible class are you taking? this scene is great, especially after you know what the hell is up

I’m taking a class called “Looking at Pop Culture: The Poetics of Television.” We’re basically exploring how television changes the opportunities for narrative.

I watched the first season way back when, but I’ve started to re-do it because I remember so little… That is, after I polish off numero cuatro. I have been the most interested in this one ever since I found out it’s about schoolkids. (Also Aiden Gillen [Petyr Baelish in Game of Thrones] is featured heavily as Tommy Carcetti!!!)

First scene in Season 4 of The Wire.

The discussion of how the smaller bullets pinball around the inside of the body while the bigger ones just break bones is straight out of an explanation in Homicide: Life on the Streets. The book, that is. This is a killer scene on its own though— in more ways than one? I’m supposed to watch this entire season before Thursday class. I may actually be able to make it.

Not really sure where the song ends and the artist begins in that title there, but rest assured that I’m going to spend my winter break watching every single Japanese pop music video that I can find.

I don’t know who created this, but I really want to give the artist credit. Credit cards attached to my name so that he can live in luxury for the rest of his life.

I’ll never stop loving Earthbound.

(Messed-up tangent: I wanted to type “he or she” for the third person pronoun, then wanted to settle on “he” cause it was cleaner, then wanted to use “she” to defy expectations, then was afraid that I would be seen as interpreting some essentially feminine characteristic about this piece so then I said fuck everything to goddamn hell. At least now any feminists know the sheer torture I put myself through.)
