You know, for all the times I throw around “glitch” as a descriptor, I haven’t searched the term “glitch art,” which I’ve first seen today in this tumblr’s title. Skipping frames and vertical scrolling are all right, but my favorites are the digital buffer issues like the one up here. They happen often enough while using VLC, and they retain so much of the original’s qualities while still looking alien and unrelated to the original’s vision.

Trailer for Lil Bub and Friendz

The final shot of this trailer makes me want to see a Kanye West “Power”-style music video featuring Bub lounging in all her splendor. It’s time for this documentary, which isn’t just about Bub: it’s an examination of cats as memes and why they’re a pervasive force across the internet. Maybe. I hope it is, but I’ll also be happy if it’s just famous cats lookin’ pretty, Bub most of all.

(And, as you may know about me thanks to this tumblr, Vice is one of my top three publications. If my love of this space creature is a vice then let me be judged [wait loving a space creature would 100% be a vice].)

haha i’ve been listening to that Cotton Eye Joe remix for an hour on loop

i think everyone in the surrounding block is square dancing

Rednex, “Cotton Eye Joe (DJ NT remix)”

Avicii stands before a 30k-strong crowd, glistening from the moist molly excitement of the believers. As the piano line of “Levels” rings out a final time before echoing into silence, the fans hold their breath… And a familiar fiddle is birthed on them.

An hour before the festival lights flip on, everyone silently files out of EDC.
