I have to wonder: just how many of those supporting Kentucky clerk Kim Davis’s refusal to issue marriage licenses based on her religious objection to same-sex couples marrying would support a Quaker government official who refused to issue them gun permits based on a religious commitment to pacifism?
– Lambda Legal Legal Director Jon Davidson with a mild false equivalence but still one worth thinking about, given how often pacifism is shit upon.
Man Marries Dog of the Day: A Toowoomba resident named Joseph Guiso gathered his family and friends in The Garden City’s Laurel Bank Park to exchange vows with his true love: A five-year-old Labrador named Honey.
“You’re my best friend and you make every part of my day better,” Guiso told his dog, as the officiant looked on. Apparently the newlyweds decided to take the plunge after stumbling across a wedding during an afternoon stroll through the park. “I said that could be us,” Guiso is quoted as saying. “She didn’t say anything so I took that as a yes.”
It’s official: This world is truly going to the dogs.

You want to know what I think of this? A man can marry a dog, but a man can’t marry a man. What does that say about our priorities? DOGS are a more valid spouse than another PERSON OF THE SAME GENDER. Jesus christ I’m gonna go take a shower before I punch the shit out of my computer.
(Even if gay marriage is legal wherever “Toowoomba” is, [if it exists at all,] you won’t see this taken to the courts and it won’t be protested en masse.)
